Umbanda - the Afro-Brazilian Spirit Religion with millions of followers all over Latin America - is a religion of the people. Open to everyone who needs help, guidance and support, Umbanda holds many mysteries to enrich our lives and our spiritual evolution. In many ways similar to Caribbean Espiritismo and European Spiritism and easily accessible to Westerners (European and American alike), Umbanda is a serious alternative to other Afro-American traditions.

The main part of this course however is dedicated to the application of Umbanda outside of Brazil. What problems can be encountered when practicing this religion, which is tied to the land, outside of its country of origin? What new challenges must be faced and how can we adapt without compromising the roots, values and believes of Umbanda?
There is no time limit to courses. It is taught as "private tuition" only and involve written material, email and phone lessons.
Please note that the course is designed to give people an understanding of Umbanda. It is not set out to make anyone an Umbanda priest or initiate!

Following quite a large number of enquiries asking to subscribe to the Quimbanda course I believe it necessary to stress that the Sacred Universe of Umbanda course is NOT a Quimbanda course but – as the name states – a course on Umbanda. Some elements of Quimbanda will be covered, but this course is again not a Quimbanda course. It is not possible to teach Quimbanda online at all. No serious Quimbandeiro will do such a thing. It is only possible to tutor long distance if a person has been met in real live and some basic ceremonies have been done.
